First aid is the provision of initial care for an illness or injury. It is usually performed by a non-expert person to a sick or injured person until definitive medical treatment can be accessed. The aims of first aid can be summarized in three key points which are preserve life, prevent further harm, and promote recovery.
In a group, discuss the basic first aid and treatment in terms of definition, types if any, and steps to do treatment for:
a) Burns and scald – group 1
b) Bleeding – group 2
c) Electrical shock – group 3
d) Bone fractures – group 4
e) Poisoning – group 5
f) Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – group 6
Then, present your group findings of the discussion with demonstration to do the treatment. Each group are given 15 minutes to do the presentation. The presentation should be done on 13/3/2014 (Thursday) on lecturer session.
